Hued Songs

Hued Songs celebrates Black culture through artistic experiences rooted in Black music. This performance, produced by Bookleggers Library, will center around three vignettes, exploring the intersection of Blackness and identity. It will take place against the colorful backdrop of Calle Ocho and Domino Park featuring the music of Black composers set to text by Langston Hughes, as well as highlights from CuBlack, a performance that analyzes the “invisibilized” oppression of Blackness inside the Cuban community. The performance will be punctuated by moments of community and space to engage and explore the range of books on the Bookleggers Bookbike.
